  • Explain Goth music, fashion and style
  • Middle Ages, Gothic  explain some influences of Goth and how this influences their dressing, music, style etc Industrial, Punk, Fetish  how Goth culture has globalized and hence has many factions. Other similar subculture have also influenced Goth culture, e.g. music from Industrial, clothes from Fetish, ideology from punk Black and death are common words associated with Goth culture. Explain ideology of being different, and lyrics involving taboo topics  open and non-discriminatory. Explain stereotype of being depressed, suicidal, but in fact Goths are not Goths in Singapore: what we already know from the RazorTV videos
  • Ask the people to respond to questions What do you think of their dressing? What is your opinion on them? What would you do if you saw people dressed like this in Singapore? Would you dress like them?
  • What do you think of their dressing?  responses, mostly shocked/feel that it’s strange. 11 year old boy who said ‘they are so ugly’ Likening to cosplay, Halloween  men say Halloween more, women say cosplay. Cosplay shows the Japanese influence What do you think of them?  What would you do if you saw people like that walking on the streets? Would you dress like this?
