Neal Parks Parks Paranormal Research and Investigation Investigating and Researching the Paranormal since 1986

The quest for freedom of information has become a personal mission of mine. I have been an advocate for discovering and uncovering the truth since the age of 11 (1986). To some that may sound a little too young to become consumed with questions about such serious matters; however the Roswell incident, the Philadelphia Experiment, the Mothman Phenomenon and various other mysteries of the world, the universe and our society have always played a major role in not only our world, but also my own personal growth process.

My journey started with fascinating stories that my Grandmother would tell me about local and regional ghost legends, UFO sightings, Bigfoot sightings and various other out of this world encounters. Personal experience also played a major role in my wide eyed wonder and reflection.

How it all began

My First Paranormal Experience (age 5)

When my Research and Investigating started (age 8)

At the age of 11 I wrote my first article pertaining to unexplained occurrences; it was featured in Weekly Reader.

My First Field Investigation (age 12)

At the age of 16 I started a Self Published Newsletter, titled “Paranormally Speaking”. I published this from 1992 – 1996.

In 1995, I formed a Paranormal Research Team that went by the name Ohio Supernatural Alliance (OSA).

On December of 2004, I befriended three individuals that had the same concept in mind, and after they realized that I have been doing this type of research since 1986, they were more than eager to get started with our own team. My new team was known as S.C.O.P.S. (South Central Ohio Paranormal Society).

On October of 2007, my team S.C.O.P.S. and myself had our field research featured in the book “Ghosts from Coast to Coast”. We were in the news, on the radio, and even appeared on a couple of television segments.

In December of 2007, my wife and I left the group in order to spend more time with our new baby, and to pursue more of our own research on our time table in fields where we were more comfortable. This is how Parks Paranormal Research and Investigation was started.

In late 2007, I began working on my first book entitled Paranormal Chronicles. This book is a compellation of my experiences and of the ghost stories I have heard in my youth.

In June of 2008 I was featured in a Know your Neighbor piece in the Chillicothe Gazette. My field research and my success in the paranormal research field was heavily profiled.

In September of 2008 my first book entitled “Paranormal Chronicles” was released. I have traveled around my state and the states bordering Ohio selling my book at local bookstores and paranormal conventions.

October 2008; “Ghosts from Coast to Coast” The best researchers in the field was released. It’s now a documentary available on DVD

My Team

My Paranormal Research Team consists of eight members including myself.

Our personal experience and knowledge enables us to collaborate collectively, and at times on separate occasions.

This simplifies the countless hours of research required to bring light to the situation.

Where I’ve been

1995 – 1997 : During the OSA years I traveled through Kentucky, and West Virginia investigating Cattle Mutilation and UFO sightings.

1997 – 2000 : I launched Investigations throughout the Ohio Valley exploring various haunted locations; for example (Elizabeth’s Grave, Crybaby’s Tunnel, Emmitt House, Blackey’s Lake, East Jackson Sand Dunes, Scioto Trails, Bunker Hill).

2000 – Present : Over the last eight years my teams and I have investigated a 300 year old cemetery and Black Beard the Pirates former residence in Beaufort North Carolina. I’ve also conducted a walkthrough at a haunted Library in Morehead City North Carolina.

My teams and I have researched and investigated ghostly happenings in Boston Massachusetts, the central and southern portion of Ohio, the northern portions of Kentucky, West Virginia, and Virginia.

My wife and I have researched Crop Formations throughout Ohio, and Indiana. I’ve researched UFO’s throughout the Midwest states, North Carolina, South Carolina, and even Nevada. My wife and I have even explored Lake Champlain in Vermont in search of New England’s very own Nessie who goes by the name Champ.

I’ve also spent time investigating hundreds of Bigfoot sightings, giant bird sightings, half dog, half man creatures, and spending countless hours, and sometimes entire weekends in Point Pleasant West Virginia; this is of course where the Mothman phenomenon as well as a multitude of bizarre anomalies have occurred.

Our Weapons of Choice

EMF Meter :

Electromagnetic field meter, ( sometimes referred to as an EMF Detector ) is a scientific instrument for measuring electromagnetic radiation. The majority of EMF meters available are calibrated to measure electromagnetic radiation, which is alternating at 50/60 Hz (the frequency of US and European mains electricity )This is because in recent years people have become concerned about the long-term health effects of exposure to high levels of radiation emitted from some electrical appliances. The same device is also used widely by ghost hunting groups to identify any normal sources of EMF which may contribute to paranormal reports, to reveal unexplained EMF "Spikes" from unknown sources, or to attempt communication as seen with the K-II meter on ghost hunters . The meters may also be modified for specific research purposes.

AC Magnetic Field Meter: Identifies Proper Distances From Magnetic Field Sources Magnetic Fields from power lines, computers, appliances and even household wiring can interfere with delicate electronic equipment and may cause health effects. The ELF Zone AC gauss meter can measure the strength of magnetic field radiation and has the advantages of ease of use and very low cost. Calibrated at 50/60 Hz with a minimum sensitivity of 0.25 MG, but will detect ELF magnetic fields over the whole frequency range of 20 - 10,000 Hz. Laboratory tested and documented for accuracy.

Three LED lights signal field strength:

0 - 2.5 MG ("safe") Green

2.5 - 7 MG ("caution") Yellow

8 or more MG ("danger") Red

Single axis sensor, on/off toggle switch. One fresh 9V battery required. Useful for preliminary surveys of home, car, or office. Economical. Very popular for paranormal work (ghost hunting) too! Most experts agree that we should avoid prolonged exposure to magnetic fields in excess of 2.5 MG, especially children, and especially while sleeping.

Gauss Meter:
Infrared Digital Thermometer Infrared thermometers measure temperature using blackbody radiation (generally infrared ) emitted from objects. They are sometimes called laser thermometers if a laser is used to help aim the thermometer, or non-contact thermometers to describe the device’s ability to measure temperature from a distance. By knowing the amount of infrared energy emitted by the object and its emissivity , the object's temperature can be determined. Infrared thermometers can be used to serve a wide variety of temperature monitoring functions. A few examples provided to this article include: Detecting clouds for remote telescope operation Checking mechanical equipment or electrical circuit breaker boxes or outlets for hot spots Checking heater or oven temperature, for calibration and control purposes Detecting hot spots / performing diagnostics in electrical circuit board manufacturing Checking for hot spots in fire fighting situations Monitoring materials in process of heating and cooling, for research and development or manufacturing quality control situations
Digital Voice Recorder

EVP : (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) :

Electronic voice phenomena (EVP) are sections of static noise on the radio or electronic recording that some listeners believe sound like voices speaking words; paranormal investigators sometimes interpret these noises as the voices of ghosts or spirits . Recording EVP has become a technique of those who attempt to contact the souls of dead loved ones or during ghost hunting activities. According to parapsychologist Konstantin Raudive , who popularized the idea, EVP are typically brief, usually the length of a word or short phrase. As the Spiritualism religious movement became prominent in the 1840s–1920s with a distinguishing belief that the spirits of the dead can be contacted by mediums , new technologies of the era including photography were employed by spiritualists in an effort to demonstrate contact with a spirit world . So popular were such ideas that Thomas Edison was asked in an interview with Scientific American to comment on the possibility of using his inventions to communicate with spirits.

He replied that if the spirits were only capable of subtle influences, a sensitive recording device would provide a better chance of spirit communication than the table tipping and ouija boards mediums employed at the time. However, there is no indication that Edison ever designed or constructed a device for such a purpose. As sound recording became widespread, mediums explored using this technology to demonstrate communication with the dead as well. Spiritualism declined in the latter part of the 20th century, but attempts to use portable recording devices and modern digital technologies to communicate with spirits continued.

Geiger Meter Radiation Detector / Nuclear Fallout Meter: Most Civil Defense Geiger Counters were issued by the United States Civil Defense during the 1960s in the midst of the Cold War in an effort to help prepare citizens for a nuclear attack. Although referred to as geiger counters , most CD devices were capable of measuring only high levels of radiation that would be present after a nuclear event. The most popular meter on the market today. This is the simplest radiological survey meter, specifically designed for high-radiation fields for which geiger counters will give incorrect readings (see above). Survey meters do not read alpha or beta radiation. They work by radiation penetrating the case of the unit and the enclosed ionization chamber to produce a visible reading between .1R/hr and 500R/hr. If you can get this unit (or any other like it) to react to any source of radiation evacuate the area immediately!
Night Vision Equipment Night Vision Monocular / Night Vision Scope: This state of the art equipment can come in very handy during crypto-zoological research and investigations. Light weight, and easy to use features offer a panoramic view with infrared technology. This equipment can allow an investigator easy access to night site without a flashlight; which in theory can give someone a better opportunity to spy on a Bigfoot in its natural habitat; or if you were to happen upon a giant Thunderbird completely unaware that you would even be near its domicile. This equipment came in very handy during our investigation of the Mothman.
Evidence that we’ve collected Image submitted to me from the Chillicothe Gazette: (Haunted Horror in the Hills)
This image was taken by me at The Old Burying Ground in Beaufort, NC – July 2008
This image was taken in Christmas of 2003. You will notice a swooshing effect above the head of my Mother-in-Law. Next to my wife’s Grandmother, you will notice an orange haze. Pay Attention
This was submitted to me from an individual who was allegedly parasailing. This person claimed to have taken this image over Lake Champlain in Vermont. I’m still not too sure about it. I wish that I had the negative, or the original image that was taken in order to authenticate.
During the baptism of my son; there were orbs throughout the entire set taken.
Halloween 2007. You will notice two orbs in this image. The image was taken at my Brother in Law’s house.
This was taken during an investigation that I conducted at the Guest House Bed and Breakfast in October in 2007. Here is a collection of orbs taken during the investigation.
