    • Simply. Business Cloud Cloud Trends and Next Steps June 2013
    • We recently published our research report on the „State-of-play‟ around the Cloud …  State-of-play around Cloud seemed to be shifting rapidly  We wanted to validate our Cloud insights and observations  We needed original research, rather than being dependent on analysts  Carried out by Coleman Parkes Research in H2 2012  460 detailed interviews with executives, most of companies >10.000 employees  All key sectors  All relevant regions
    • … it contains 3 major insights:  The Business is more in the lead …  Almost 50/50 split between Business and IT  Business benefits well understood, also on the business side  Economic climate accelerating Cloud uptake  … yet a careful, stepwise approach is taken …  There are still many uncertainties around Cloud  Many companies prefer „private‟ or „hybrid‟ scenarios for now  … but for enabling new activities, Cloud already is the default  New business activities are often triggered and enabled by Cloud solutions  Cloud qualities are particularly relevant to new, „edge‟ business activities
    • The Business is more in the lead… Figure 2: Who makes decisions about Cloud?
    • … with many companies having a Cloud strategy… Figure 1: Do you have a Cloud adoption strategy in place> (Percentage answering “yes,” by region)
    • …accelerated by the economic climate… Figure 4: Is the current economic climate driving Cloud uptake? (Percentage answering “yes,” by region and sector)
    • …and benefits well understood… Figure 3: What are the business drivers behind moving to the Cloud?
    • …yet a careful, stepwise approach is taken, with many preferring „private‟ Cloud scenarios…
    • …with uncertainties still being felt… Figure 12: What are the top impediments preventing Cloud uptake?
    • …but for enabling new business activities, Cloud is already the default!
    • Summarizing…
    • Based on 3 months of client engagements around the study, we created a follow-up point-of-view …  Business IT Fusion, no alignment  Crucial inflection point for the relationship between business and IT  Cloudify your Business  New benchmark sets new standards  Orchestrate the Cloud  Bringing back simplicity  Get Close to the Edge  New activities, Cloud default
    • … which defines the need for Cloud Orchestration … Identity Management ID Management Access Management Auditing Services Encryption Services Directory Services Security Infrastructure Interface Adapters Interface Adapters ETL Reliable Messaging File Transfer Workflow Master Data Management Process Orchestration Business Activity Management Publish Subscribe Exception Management Business Rules Translation Transformation Service Integration Financial Services eRetail eRetail Mail & Parcels Services Information Aggregation Supply Chain Services Insurance Services Document Management Government Services Credit Checking & Address Validation Configurable Pricing Common Shopping Basket & Payments Anti-fraud Common Services Content Management Personalization Collaboration Search Personalization and Interaction Service Management Archiving Event Management Reporting Service Support Service Continuity Data Warehouse Customer transactions Web analytics Marketing Customer Transaction Management Customer transactions Web analytics Customer Management Data Warehouse Printing Traffic Management Technology Model Operating Model Commercial Framework Capgemini Immediate
