Perimenopause

 1. 1. Menopause is not a Health Condition

Menopause is normal process that every woman goes through.
 2. 2. A healthy woman, when approaching Menopause does not experience menopausal symptoms. The transition should be smooth and easy.

Yet more and more woman experience Menopause as …
A serious health problem

With debilitating symptoms
 3. 3. With a radical decrease of life quality

 9. 9. Symptoms of Estrogen Decline
Hot flashes
Vaginal dryness
Changes in skin tone
Depression
Poor concentration and memory
Irregular periods
Hair loss and thinning
Pain and inflammation
Weight gain
Decreased memory and cognitive function
Dysglycemia
10. 10. Typical Management of Menopause
11. 11. Changes in pro-inflammatory activity after menopause
There is now a large body of evidence suggesting that the
decline in ovarian function with menopause is associated with
spontaneous increases in pro-inflammatory cytokines.
12. 12. So that’s the reason for all of those:

Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke
 13. 13. Osteoporosis
 14. 14. Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease
 15. 15. Arthritis
 16. 16. Autoimmune Disease

Why do some women have a smoother process than others?
When the female hormone production starts to fluctuate the adrenal system is supposed to take over.
The adrenal gland produces a hormone (androstenedione) that gets converted to estrogen in the fatty tissues
If the adrenal system is strong, it compensates the loss of estrogen and the transition is smooth
17. 17. What if the Adrenals are weak?
There is no compensation for estrogen loss
this will lead to hormone fluctuations in the body
all the typical symptoms will occur.
18. 18. Are those familiar?
Hot flashes
Vaginal dryness
Changes in skin tone
Depression
Poor concentration and memory
Irregular periods
Hair loss and thinning
Pain and inflammation
Weight gain
Decreased memory and cognitive function
Dysglycemia
19. 19. In addition potentially devastating mechanisms are getting activated:
There is a number offactors that cause systemic inflammation in Perimenopause
Those factors potentiate each other and have devastating effects on cell aging and tissue breakdown
Hormone replacement is not addressing those mechanisms since they stay active once triggered
20. 20. First Mechanism:
If there is a decline in Estrogen levels (specifically estradiol) infemale patients in premenopause, the inflammatory cytokine system is up-regulated and may stay up-regulated EVEN AFTER ESTROGEN LEVELS ARE RESTORED.
Depending on pre-existing inflamed areas in the body this up-regulation will determine which systems are most impacted by this process.
21. 21. Pre-exisitng Activity? What’s effected?
Immune activation (which can lead to autoimmune diseases)
Neuro-inflammation (which can lead to dementia, and many other neurological conditions)
Free Radicals (increased cancer risk)
Higher stress response (individual loses ability to cope with stress)
Body fat (produces inflammatory agents)
22. 22. Another Disturbing Mechanism
Ever wondered why you are so cranky? You might feel like you are a bitch but seriously you are not. Here is what happens:
There is a part of the brain that is responsible for having all those overly emotional reactions. It’s called the Mesolimbic system.
Guess what: that system get’s heavily activated in menopause!
23. 23. And there is more…
The immune reactions cause:
Tissue destruction (thus the bone loss)
Decreased blood flow (higher cardio vascular risk)
Decreased synapses (that leads to brain fog, neurological conditions etc)
24. 24. Here is the bad News
None of those conditions can be successfully treated just with hormone replacement
Once those things start happening in your body, they pretty much won’t stop by themselves
Without help the body deteriorates and degenerates at an alarming rate
25. 25. And here is the good news:
We actually have ways to help
They are not exclusively ours, and they exist thanks to amazing neurological and endocrinological research that has been done in the last years
Sadly almost nobody is practicing this particular kind of medicine yet
It revolutionizes the way we are able to help in those conditions
26. 26. What’s so different?
We work mostly with nutritional supplements and herbs
Those supplements are high end and go way beyond what’s sold on the market
The formulas we use are very fine tuned and especially aimed to your individual medical need
We carefully monitor and manage the process
We use extremely thorough examinations to determine the right course of supplementation on an individual basis
We often switch supplements during the process
27. 27. What this does:
We usually achieve dramatic results within the first 3 months of treatment.
We are able to stop mechanisms in the body that have been on autopilot for many years
We achieve higher and lasting life quality for our patients
There are no signs of dependency with the products we use.
28. 28. We use only natural products that are intended to restore health, not manipulate the body in unethical ways like for example some weight loss products do
We do not use prescription drugs and pharmaceuticals
Our products are of the highest quality and after a favorable condition in the body is restored we discontinue treatment without side effects
Our goal is to get you out of our care as fast as possible
29. 29. We can help:
Women who are approaching menopause and don’t want to have to deal with meonopausal symptoms later on. We prepare your body so you can have a smooth transition
Women who are going through menopause
Woman after their menopause, who are still experiencing symptoms and haven’t recovered fully and just feel like they haven’t been the same since they entered menopause
