  • 1. GOAL SETTING FORM<br />The intention of goal setting is to provide you with an insight into the importance of the balance of your life. Whether its in relation to Business, Personal, Exercise, Health, Family or Lifestyle all things must be balanced in order for us to achieve balance and happiness. <br />Its is recommended that you set aside an hour to work on your Plan. Try to be completely honest with yourself throughout the exercise and hang on to it for future reference. There is no hard and fast rule on what works and what doesn’t but its designed to help you like yourself, be happy with your achievements and plan toward self fulfilment. So here we go…<br />STEP 1. WHO AM I?<br />So a quick snapshot at yourself. - Your at your funeral, your sitting in the crowd and listening to the Eulogy. How do you want people to remember you? <br />WHAT DID YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOURSELF?<br />1.<br />2.<br />3.<br />4.<br />5<br />WHAT WERE YOUR ASPIRATIONS?<br />1.<br />2.<br />3.<br />4.<br />5.<br />WHAT WERE YOUR PRINCIPLES?<br />1.<br />2.<br />3.<br />4.<br />5.<br />WHAT DID YOU BRING TO OTHER PEOPLE’S LIVES AND WHAT DID YOU DO FOR THE COMMUNITY<br />1.<br />2.<br />3.<br />STEP 2. - WHAT WAS NECESSARY TO ACHIEVE THIS?<br />ATTITUDE?<br />CAREER?<br />EDUCATION?<br />FAMILY?<br />FINANCIAL STATE?<br />HEALTH?<br />STEP 3. – GOALS – Describe YOUR goals and be specific. Set it out in a table for each of the items below. Why is the goal important to you? What action needs to be taken in order to achieve it? Is it realistic? When do you want it completed by? What is the reward?<br />FOR EACH OF YOUR GOALS?<br /> <br />1.FAMILY GOALS<br />2.HEALTH GOALS<br />3.WEALTH GOALS<br />4.TRAVEL GOALS<br />5.HOBBIES <br />6.EDUCATION GOALS<br />7.CAREER GOALS<br />STEP 5 – WHAT SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS?<br />1.FAMILY?<br />2.HEALTH?<br />3.WEALTH?<br />4.TRAVEL?<br />5.HOBBIES?<br />6.EDUCATION?<br />7.CAREER?<br />STEP 4 - PERSONAL SWOT ANALYSIS? (STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES, OPPORTUNITIES AND THREATS?<br />In a Marketing plan we do a SWOT analysis. The SWOT is used to identify areas of weakness, opportunity, strength and what threats there are to success. Lets look at a SWOT analysis for personal growth. As if you were a brand or a product. Try to remain relatively disassociated from the outcomes of your SWOT and list each of the relevant points, in point form, under each heading. <br />StrengthsWeaknesses<br />Opportunities Threats <br />STEP 5 - DEVELOP A PERSONAL ACTION PLAN<br />Your action plan is there to assist you to put time lines on your goals. Change these to months if you wish but set yourself reasonable time limit to achieve each of your goals.<br />MonTuesWedThursFriSatSun<br />STEP 6 – DAILY ACTION PLAN <br />In an ideal world my day would be mapped out hour by hour. I know with some of the most successful business people (John McGrath and Siimon Reynolds are two of them) their days are mapped out according to the balance they need to achieve and maintain, their goals. So lets start with doing exactly what they do. Each of our goals needs time assuming you wake at 7am and go to bed at 9pm, what can we achieve.<br />Hour. <br />7.<br />8.<br />9.<br />10.<br />11.<br />12.<br />1.<br />2.<br />3.<br />4.<br />5.<br />6.<br />7.<br />8.<br />9.<br />STEP 6 – CELEBRATE!<br />Now its time to spoil yourself. Give yourself license to do exactly what you want, WHEN, you have achieved your goals. What are your wishes or indulgences? Go for it – No ones watching!<br />STEP 8 – ACHEIVE AND THEN DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN!!<br />Don’t stop now! I hope you have enjoyed the process but unless your 99 years old and in a nursing home - we’re not finished!. And even then I would say we still have room to move. Hang on to the plan you’ve just done. Put it somewhere private or personal and refer to it at least once a week. The process of uncovering who we are belongs in this plan. And remember – Life is Short<br />
