    3. 3. What are the major parts of a plant? FLOWERS produce seeds and SEEDS produce new plants. Reproduction! LEAVES absorb sunlight and produce the plants food. Photosynthesis! TRUNK OR STEM supports the plant and transports the fluids throughout the plant. Transpiration! ROOTS bring water and nutrients into the plant. They also anchor the plant.
