LITTLE EUROPEANS KNOW EACH OTHER EU LLP COMENIUS MULTILATERAL SHOOL PARTNERSHIP PROJECT ACTIVITY PLAN FOR PRE-SCHOOL EDUCATION SUBJECTS COUNTRY / CITY Portugal – Torres Novas SCHOOL Assentis and Chancelaria School Centre LEVEL / AGE GROUP 3 years old THE NAME OF THE ACTIVITY TITLE OF THE LESSON Medieval Dance TOPIC / MAIN IDEA Dance included in the parade at the 15th century fair occurred in Torres Novas SUBJECT 15th Century Parade / Medieval Fair MATERIALS Medieval costumes and accessories made of plastic, cardboard and tissues. OBJECTIVES To provide the opportunity to live a distant past To develop musical taste and body language To encourage the parents collaboration of the involved children METHODS AND TECHNIQUES Listening to a medieval music Exploring the music with musical instruments Interpreting and memorizing the dance steps ACTIVITY Activity developed by the teacher of music , as a sensibilization for the participation in the medieval fair. Children begin by listening to a medieval music, played by the teacher in a flute. Then, they are invited to explore the different musical instruments, producing medieval sounds. At the same time, children move themselves at the sound of the music. Their steps and movements result in a dance. Assessment The objectives of this activity were achieved, since the children were very interested and excited.
