  22. 22. 22 PRODUCT DESIGN The Difference is INSIDE… Enhanced transition area results in superior flow capacity. POM provides 160% more shaft travel than GF. This creates smoother flow with finer transitioning. POM uses PTFE sleeves to eliminate friction. STEM DESIGN GFPOM GFPOM BODY DESIGN

We use multiple springs GF – POM– Rolling diaphragm Surface area (pressure sensing) is virtually identical, but with the vertical “rolling diaphragm” format, POM provides 3.7 X more diaphragm travel than GF. GF – 65 mm POM– 190 mm Multiple springs in parallel Multiple springs in concert with the rolling diaphragm result in more accurate pressure settings, greater sensitivity and more accurate downstream pressure.   25. 25. Advantages of Plast-O-Matic Pressure Regulators…  Most pressure regulators impede flow while sensing pressure. The sensing orifice and pressure sensing chamber in a Plast-O-Matic regulator are not in the flow path – flow is unrestricted and much higher than competitive designs.  Large sensing area of the rolling diaphragm provides smoother, more accurate control. 25

Advantages, continued…  U-cups used in place of O-rings provide smooth, non-sticking movement of the main shaft.  Greater accuracy & repeatability achieved via multiple springs matched to the pressure range of the application.  Overall design – large flow path, large sensing area, more sensitive springs – all combine to provide the best performing pressure regulators since 1967.  No wetted metals. All-plastic wetted designs are essential for corrosive and ultra-pure applications. 26
