Everything you Need to Know About Horse Panels
1. Everything you Need to Know About Horse Panels
Horse panels are important pieces of equipment for those who own horses or livestock. Horse panels are not
the typical solid panels that we think of like wall panelling or wainscoting. Horse panels are best described as
modular fencing that allows plenty of room for horses to roam around and to keep them safe and secure.
Horse panels come in a variety of different materials such as iron, wood and steel. They are permanent fixtures
set into place at a designated plot that has been chosen as the fencing area in order to hold horses. There
are also portable types of horse panels available that can be temporarily positioned and then taken apart and
stored or transported.
Horse panels are modular, meaning they will fasten together and can be shaped into any pattern or shape that
you may desire. If you are only keeping a horse over night for whatever reason, modular horse panels are ideal
because of the fact that they are relatively easy to assemble and to lock into place. When it comes to installing
horse panels, you are not required to dig trenches because the horse panels are equipped with stakes that
can inserted into the ground with ease and can also be taken out once the job has been done without any
trouble. Most horse panels are available in 4, 5 or 6 bars and average horse panels are about five feet high.
Horse panels are most commonly used for horse fairs, rodeos when the field is rented for just a couple of days
because horse panels are so easy to set up and dismantle.
Horse corral panels, whether they are made of metal or wood are continuously exposed to elements such as
moisture, sunlight, extreme weather conditions and usually begin to wear, crack, splinter and peel within a few
years depending on the type of material used to make the horse panels. For example, in areas that are windy
or have a lot of sunlight, the aging process is accelerated.
The horse panels can be as large or as small as you desire, however they are required to be at least 5 feet
in height in order to keep your horse inside. As mentioned earlier, horse panels can be connected to make
a round, rectangular or square shaped enclosure. Horse panels are not typically used as pasture fencing.
Making horse panels out of PVC pipes will help you save a lot of money and they are also relatively light in
weight and can be easily transported from one place to another as opposed to regular steel horse panels.
