company was founded in 2003 by Sohail Ahmed and Faisal Qureshi.
Sohail Ahmed – Chief Executive
A business graduate, Sohail Ahmed is the CEO of a 36-years old business house, SG Fibre Ltd (www.sglyne.com),
which currently employs over 1200 people and has annual revenue of over US$25 million. He has over 26 years
of rich experience in setting up and managing large sized industrial units and sophisticated process industry.
Working as part of the top management, he has been managing projects, production, sales and marketing,
engineering, accounts, and overall management, and has helped equip the company with high-tech,
state-of-the-art plant and machinery. He has represented his company in a number of countries, establishing a
network of business contacts worldwide.
Faisal Qureshi – Managing Director
An electrical engineer, Faisal Qureshi has over 2 decades of rich experience in Information Technology, Industry
and Business. He has been involved with IT development since early 1990s. In 1999, he started his own venture
Kolachi Advanced Technologies (www.kolachi.com), a technology development company that has based its
services upon quality, excellence and performance and has expanded tremendously in less than a decade.
Throughout his career, he has been extensively involved in the use and management of computer technologies,
software development, the design of interactive web-based applications and web designing. He has vast
experience in efficient management of teams and has been responsible for sales and marketing of company
products at an international level, contributing significantly in increasing client base.
Imran Ali Rashid – Chief Technology Officer
Imran Ali Rashid is a computer science graduate from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences &
Technology, Pakistan, and has over 6 years of experience in the field of Information Technology. His technical
expertise includes .NET Technologies, Perl/CGI, Databases and Network Administration. He is responsible for
supervising the entire technology team, coordinating with clients, mapping business needs to software
specifications, and brainstorming for new projects.
Tameem Qazi – Business Development Manager
Tameem Qazi has a post graduate degree in computer science from Lahore University of Management Sciences,
and brings more than 7 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Project Management. Being
passionate about demonstrating responsible leadership and delivering a high level of customer satisfaction, she
focuses on ensuring quality concepts and project's compliance to specifications, thus improving the process

Munira Ajmal carries a post graduate degree in Psychology from the University of Punjab, and brings with her
more than 8 years of experience in the field of Information Technology, with extensive experience in managing
projects and coordination. Her excellent communication skills, along with commendable research abilities and
report writing, make her an effective team leader and project coordinator. Her background in Psychology
provides her an edge in controlling and supervising teams and individuals.
Arshad Mahmood – Marketing Manager
Arshad Mahmood has a post graduate degree in Applied Physics (Electronics) from Karachi University and a
major in Marketing from IBA. He has got enormous experience, with 22 years in Industrial Management,

Development Methodology for Outsourcing
Phases of Development
1. Initial Evaluation: After an inquiry or a request for proposal is received by Blue Ice Technologies, it
assigns a business contact to coordinate with the client and gather the requirements of the project. The
requirements are then analyzed by a team of professionals. Depending upon the nature of the request
and the information available, the client is contacted with further questions (if necessary) for a better
understanding of the requirements set forth by him. The client responds to the queries sent by BIT. This
process continues until the initial understanding of the project is fully achieved and all the requirements
are clear.
The client is then presented with an initial proposal, outlining BIT’s understanding of the
requirements. Along with this proposal, the client is also informed about project costs, payment
schedule, draft contract agreement, technology identification, tentative project timeline and duration.
2. Requirements Analysis: After the initial proposal has been reviewed and agreed upon by the client, BIT
assigns a project manager who coordinates with the client and the technology team to formulate a
formal Software Requirements Specification (SRS) of the project. During this process, discussions are
held with the client to understand the requirements in detail, in order to model the system accordingly.
Furthermore, depending upon the nature of the project, Phase 1 and Phase 2 may overlap.
3. Design and Development: This phase starts off with the technical architecture and design of the project.
It covers class diagrams, state diagrams, sequence diagrams and database design. The project manager
is heavily involved throughout this process, ensuring code reviews and overseeing developer level
testing.

5. Quality Assurance: As each module is developed, it is passed on to BIT’s Quality Assurance department
(QA) for testing. The QA team tests the product against the test plans and test cases prepared during
Phase 2 and Phase 3.
After the completion of the integration testing, the QA Manager and the Project Manager conduct the
final Acceptance testing.
6. Deployment and Support: For offshore clients, deployment is made from remote where required. BIT
offers a variety of support mechanisms, based on the terms agreed upon in the contract mentioned in
Phase 1.

In order to provide clients the ability to track the progress of projects, Blue Ice Technologies employs a
web-based project tracking tool called DotProject.
DotProject enables clients to:
 Assist the development team in collaborating, planning, scheduling, tracking, and analyzing.
 Gain insight into task assignment, project status, and clearly defined responsibilities and authorities.

Project Pricing
Blue Ice Technologies offers a variety of packages for offshore development, the cost of which ranges from US$9
to US$60 per hour – depending upon the nature of the project, its complexity and the type of resources
involved. Three pricing options are available.
1. Fixed Pricing: We charge a fixed price for projects with clearly defined and frozen requirements.
2. Variable Pricing: This is advisable for projects where the scope of the project is not clear.
3. Dedicated Team: Suited for clients heavily involved in outsourcing with a stream of ongoing work. We
dedicate a team for them and charge on a monthly basis. The cost depends upon the level of expertise
and number of people involved, etc. We employ highly skilled people only, who are experts in their
respective area of work. In addition, all our team members have good command over written and
spoken English.
