- Back in the 70s Johnny Carson had a guest performer that would come in set up a pole and the start a plate spinning on top of that pole. Then another, another, another until he had multiple plates spinning all around him. He always knew where to apply pressure to keep the plates spinning. In a way that is your job as a sales manager. You need to focus and apply pressure on points in your sales team that will drive the highest performance.
