This upcoming year we hope to increase and improveparticipation of graduate and professional students inthe governance and advocacy opportunities at theUniversity and State levels, especially working with ourDuluth members. I am passionate about improvinghealth services on campus, in collaboration withBoynton Health Services, and in partnering with ourundergraduate counterpart, the Minnesota StudentAssociation (MSA).Open Access and Open Textbooks are also big issuesacross the Big Ten, and is a Federal issue of concern toour student body. Cost and debt burden are ongoingissues as well, and I look forward to finding ways toadvocate on those matters when possible. It is 2012-2013 Goalsimportant to find ways to share best practices and “To throw a pot of spaghetticollaborate across colleges and programs. The thing (myriad policies to improvethat excites me most about student governance is that graduate and professional life)every day I learn something new about the University, at the wall (University of Minnesota governancewhich I am in a position to share with my fellow structure) and see what sticksstudents, to improve our common experience. (actions accomplished).” Brittany Edwards GAPSA President (2012-2013) GAPSA 2012-2013 Executive Board Roster gapsa.umn.edu
