GHG Emission from Forest and Land Fires Calculation

  1. 1. Introduction Dialogue: GHG Emission from Forest and Land Fires Calculation Farhan Helmy Sekretaris Kelompok Kerja Mitigasi, DNPI 5 Juli 2013 1
  2. 2. Agenda Time Remarks 10.00 – 10.15 Introduction to Dialogue Farhan Helmy Secretary of Mitigation Workin Group, DNPI 10.15 – 11.20 Exchange of Views and Discussion 11.20 – 11.30 Follow-up Activities and Closing Coordination Meeting on GHG Calculation from Forest Fires 2
  3. 3. Proceedings • The recent forest and land fire occuers happend in Sumatera have serious impacts comparing to the forest fires in 1997/1998. • Gross emissions from dry-land forests stem primarily from deforestation, forest degradation and forest fires. Forest fires are expected to contribute in average another 78 Mt CO2e annually going forward (Indonesia ‘s GHG Abatement Cost Curve, DNPI, 2010) • The need for comprehensive and systemic actions based on evindent facts and solid assessments. 3Coordination Meeting on GHG Calculation from Forest Fires
