Slide 1: One type of Conversion ?
Slide 2: Four Models of Conversion
Slide 3: Model 1: Pauline Saul (later Paul) had an instant conversion, on the road during his zealous persecutions of people of THE WAY. In one instant he met Jesus and changed paths and believed.
Slide 4: Model 2: Peter Peter loved Jesus, then denied him, then loved him, then stuffed up again later, then lead the early church. His conversion was a rocky one.
Slide 5: Model 3: John John was a pretty mild disciple around Jesus and the twelve, but later wrote some pretty passionate contributions to the Bible. His conversion seemed to be gradual.
Slide 6: Model 4: Group Household of Zaccheus and Cornelius. Communal salvation is hard to understand from a western individualistic framework.
Slide 7: Questions for further thinking How did you come to faith? Which model of conversion best fits you? How do most young people you talk to come to faith? What models are most common? Least common? If there are different models then...How then should we shape our ministry?
