  9. Emotions: humans make emotional connections, not abstractions
  10. Stories: are easier to remember, great ideas and presentations have an element of story to them

  12. Stories contain analogies and metaphors
  13. Good stories have clear beginnings, engaging content and a clear conclusion
  14. Stories and Authenticity…
  15. Tell relevant stories clearly and with a pleasing voice
  16. Stories are personal- from the heart… not from a script
  17. It’s not just about information…
  18. You must have the ability to give the audience context and perspective
  19. A presenter must inspire and stimulate with knowledge plus context, meaning and emotion
  20. Information + Emotion and Visualization with Anecdotes = Stories

  22. Use well spoken narratives which are conversational

  24. Use storyboarding to visualize the sequence of the content
  25. Step One: Brainstorm
  26. Step Two: Identify one key, memorable idea… the core
  27. then… chunk to group similar ideas to find the theme
  28. Step Three: Transfer ideas to post-its / moleskine storyboard
  29. Step Four: Transfer to a slide sorter to build presentation flow
  30. Editing and Restraint…
  31. Eliminate parts that aren’t crucial to your purpose
  32. Identify elements of content that can be organized to tell a memorable story
  33. Remember… a presentation is never just about the facts
