  3. 3. Northern Virginia CASH<br />Northern Virginia CASH – Creating <br />Assets, Savings and Hope – Campaign<br />The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program relies on volunteers to deliver free tax preparation services at no cost to working families and individuals in our community. <br />

Northern Virginia CASH<br />Volunteers are needed to help prepare tax returns or serve as greeters/ screeners, IT support and interpreters. <br />Free training from the IRS.<br />Only requires a few hours a week during tax season.<br />More info is online at www.nvacash.org, or call 703-533-5702.  <br />

Bob’s Slug Line<br />The slugging area located in the former Circuit City front parking lot along Old Keene Mill Road has been temporarily relocated to the rear of the lot. <br />The front parking area will be re-paved, painted and a bus shelter installed, and is on schedule for a December opening.<br />For more info, call 703-877-5606.<br />
  6. 6. Award for BOS Chairman<br />Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman Sharon Bulova recently received an award from the National Capital Area Chapter of the American Planning Association for her leadership while chairing the Greater Washington 2050 Initiative.  <br />

Turf Field Applications<br />Any youth or adult sports organization, league or group that receives field use permits from the Department of Neigh-borhoodand Community Services may apply for funding to develop a turf field. <br />A notice of intent to apply is due Dec. 1; applications are due Dec. 15. <br />For more details, call 703-324-5533.<br />
