The first thing I did for mycoursework was create a newpage on my wordpress blog. Thisis where all my work can befound and throughout theresearch and planning,construction and evaluationstages, I constantly referred backand forth from my blogpage.To note: when using wordpress,you need to ensure you are onwww.wordpress.com and not onwordpress.org.
The next step was research. Thefirst bit of research I did wassecondary research via Youtube.I found three existing teasertrailers of my chosen genre whichwas horror and embedded theseinto my blog page. I then went onto analyse these three teasertrailers in my wordpress blog andlooked at conventions which runthrough them all. This then ledme to my initial ideas.
Add in image of google images I used internet explorer to research and find examples of film posters and magazine front covers. From internet explorer, I saved the images as .JPEGs and then imported them into a power point presentation so I could analyse them. after analysing them, I saved each poster and magazine image with it’s analysis as a .JPEG and then imported into my blog under the research and planning section.
For my primary research I usedMicrosoft word to design myquestionnaire.
I used powerpoint several timesduring the whole process. In theresearch and planning stage Iused it as an easier way toanalyse existing film posters andmagazine front covers.
After conducting myquestionnaire, I used Microsoftexcel to collate my results andconvert them into graphs. Thiswas one of the longer tasks ofthe research section as it is quitetime consuming inputing all thedata from your questionnairetogether. Once I converted thedata into graphs, I had to pullthem into microsoft powerpointand then from there, save themas an image which I could putinto my blog.
During the planning stage, I used powerpoint several times. I used it to make up mocks of my initial ideas for my poster and magazine cover. I used powerpoint as it was a program I had easy access to outside of lesson and this allowed me to very quickly plan my ideas so I could see what looked better, what didn’t work, what neededImage of microsoft powerpoint improving and changing.needed
I was initially planning on using the Canon 450D DSLR to take my photos for my animatic as it takes high quality photos, however when there were restrictions with using this piece of equipment as only people with experience in using it were allowed to book it out for usage. This was because this camera is of high value and is more complicated to use, so if an inexperienced person was to use, then they may do something to it. I quickly overcame this issue by borrowing a different camera with equivalent quality which wasnt as complicated to use. I ended up using the canon ixus 95Include image camera which was really simple to useof canon ixus and this enabled me to take my pictures95 quickly and upload it onto the mac ready to be imported in a sequence on final cut.

The longest process of the constructionprocess was editing my recordings onFinal Cut.
I used motion to create the text for my teaser trailer. As I constructed my text, I wrote down my steps such as fonts and sizes so that when I came to creating text for my poster and magazine cover on photoshop, I could create same or similar text so that all three products would relate to each other.Add in screen shots of testing the different fonts and that
The first task I conducted on photoshop was to manipulate and create an image for my film poster and magazine front cover. Because I have rarely used photoshop, I didn’t know how to really use any of the tools so I watched and followed tutorials on youtube which was a major help as not only did it show me photoshop how to get my desired effects such changing backgrounds, it also gave me inspiration for some of my own ideas.Which tools did you use most? The first step in creating my evaluationwas to create a slide share account.This was so that I could turn myPowerPoint presentations into andonline format so that I could get anembed code and import it into my blogpage. This was a simple process and avery quick one. A problem with thisthough was that you couldn’t upload fileswhich included sound so I had to recordvoiceovers and sounds separately andembed them into the blog separately.
