  • 2. What is Air Pollution? Air pollution is the introduction of chemicals, particulate, or biological material that cause harm or discomfort to humans or other living organisms, or damages the natural environment into the atmosphere.

Air Pollution In Textile Industry: Textile industry is one of the major source in the increase of air pollution globally in general or in developing countries in particular. The textile industry is plagued by air pollution problems which must be resolved. In particular, smoke and odor arising in the process require abatement. Air pollution control technology is available today which will serve the textile industry well.

  • 6. Pollutant Particles : ComesFrom: Oil mist, visible  Knitting, lubricating plume and organic oils, heat processes, particles. calendaring drying and curing.  Carbonization of Acid mist wool and spray dyeing…  Natural and Dust and Lint synthetic fibers spinning.

Major Air Pollution In Textile: The major air pollution problem in the textile industry occurs during the finishing stages, where various processes are employed for coating the fabrics. Coating materials include lubricating oils, plasticizers, paints and water repellent chemicals essentially, organic compounds. such as: oils, waxes or solvents.
  • 8.  In the textile Air pollution problem is also done by the creation of VOCs (volatile organic compounds), which take the form of visible and invisible smoke but above all an objectionable odor.
  • 9. Necessary steps to Control it: It controlled by installing any suitable APC methods, because a variety of APC methods are available. Wet ESP (electro static precipitators) Scrubber, Dry ESP (electro static precipitators) fiber filter

  • 12. General control: 1. Height of chimneys: should not be less than 30 meters.
