Connect to eduroam: Mac OS X 10.5 or newerAfter the initial configuration, you should automatically connect to eduroam when you are usingCamosun’s wireless network. 1. Before you start this procedure, ensure the following: o Your wireless card and its drivers have been installed and you have rebooted your laptop since the installation. o Your laptop is powered on and booted up. o You are in an area with wireless coverage. o Your computers wireless switch or button is turned on. o You have a Camosun Staff or Student domain account and password. 2. At the top-right corner of your screen there should be the AirPort icon. If you do not see this icon, your AirPort card or AirPort software may not be installed properly. 3. Click on the AirPort icon (it may be partially darkened) to reveal a menu. Ensure your AirPort is On by clicking Turn AirPort On. 4. Click the AirPort icon again and select Join Other Network.... 5. Enter the following information: o Network name: eduroam (case sensitive) o Security: WPA2 Enterprise o User Name (where c######## is your C-number ID): Staff or Faculty email@example.com Students firstname.lastname@example.org o Password: [your Staff or Student Domain password]
o 802.1X: Automatic.Note: WPA2 Enterprise is required for eduroam.If you see an Authentication message, try re-entering your c-number, followed email@example.com or @student.camosun.bc.ca (staff/faculty, or student, respectively), andyour Domain password.
6. From the Home screen, press the Settings button.
4. Under the Choose a Network... heading, select Other....5. Enter eduroam (case sensitive) for the Name of the network.
6. For Security type, select WPA2 Enterprise.7. In the Username field, enter your personal c-number (c#######) followed by @staff.camosun.bc.ca if you are staff or faculty, or @student.camosun.bc.ca if you are a student, along with your Domain password in the Password field. Press Join.
Your device should now be connected to the eduroam secure wireless network.Page 7
