SAL’s three tasks at each grade level address letter identification or fluency, t ext comprehension (recount and locate), and writing. Go over record forms with group, with emphasis on teachers recording and taking notes on students’ performance to gather evidence. Model, using teacher script, administering task 1.
Go over meaning of markings of task 1. Spend some time explaining the options A & B for task 2 in grades 1 through 3. Model administering task 2 options A & B with group.
