OverviewTo celebrate rising of Bangalore as a startup city, TiE Bangalore in associationwith Unstoppable.in came up with an idea of a festival where startups canmeet, learn from each other, get to know about trends and new strategies. Afestival that would be featuring 75+ sessions at 60 venues with more than 50speakers.They got more than 100 festival partners, participating 60 startups along with500 founders. The mission was to bring Bangalore from #19 to #10 startuphubs in the world.The ChallengeOrganizing and managing such a big event has its own types of certain anduncertain challenges. One of them was event ticketing, registrations and lastmile on the spot entry management services.Startup festival team approached team Ayojak for services that can resolvethese challenges.StrategiesWhen Team Startup Festival put their requirements on the table, we quicklycrafted a cohesive roadmap for all activities to be done to make StartupFestival a successful event.Online Registration PageWe started with creating a branded registration page on our Ayojak platformthat matched with the theme of Startup Festival so that visitors can easilyconnect the dots.To make people remember the event page more easily we have given them auser-friendly subdomain (http://startupfestival.ayojak.com/).Payment ProcessingTo fill all the gaps in payment processing, we provided them all possiblepayment solutions along with two payment gateways (EBS + CCAvenue) forprocessing Debit/Credit cards & net banking payments; Cash on Delivery(across 3,000 locations in India), Direct Bank deposit, DD, Cheque servicesand at the venue payments.Online PromotionWe promoted festival regularly to all our social media channels. Updated ouraudience through email campaigns, Facebook, Twitter etc.On The Spot RegistrationsApart from online ticketing, we expected people just to walk-in asking for atthe venue registrations. For that day passes would have been printed and wemanaged all on the spot registrations smoothly.
Entry ManagementPeople who bought tickets online needed to be verified for right entry. Ourteam pulled their socks, put their laptops in place and began authenticating allonline entries bought from Ayojak.com.The OutcomeBeing a startup event, Startup Festival got popularity in Indian StartupEcosystem. Ticket sale picked up the pace in few weeks only. Festival created aremarkable buzz in Indian media, blogs and among startup founders,entrepreneurs.We got continuous queries regarding event, tickets, venues, speakers, agendaand what not.On the event days itself, people were walking-in to attend their favoritesession, listen their favorite speakers or just to network with fellowentrepreneurs.The event was hugely successful with mention as biggest Startup Event inIndia.The Real NumbersAll these efforts impacted the success of the event. More than 16,000 visits wegot on online registration page. Hundreds of people bought tickets at thevenue.Festival got more than 5000 attendees in the span of four days. For a firsttime event like this, it was a huge number. People appreciated the concept andexecution of such a big event.
