Sledge Business to Business

  1. 1. who we are and what we do
  2. 2. Agency Overview Founded in 1991, Sledge is one of the UK’s longest established live experience agencies with a staff of 40 people. Our heritage has been in creating internal and business events but over the last six years, with clients such as O2 and innocent, we have pioneered some of the UK’s most groundbreaking and successful consumer facing brand experiences. Today our business is split 50:50 between consumer and internal/business events. These events range from huge public happenings such as the innocent village fete, through to intimate team building activities. Through events such as the O2 Premiere we continue to push the boundaries of how live experiences can be used to reward and motivate staff, leveraging the agency’s breadth and experience to handle everything from logistics to production and talent booking. Sledge’s in-house event production expertise is complemented by a video department, which offers comprehensive production services, including extensive post-production facilities and full DVD authoring capabilities, 2D and 3D design. Beyond this, our strategic planning department has enabled us to pioneer new ways of evaluating live experiences and demonstrating return on investment.

  4. 4. Microsoft Summer Party Sledge was asked to produce a party for 2,500 Microsoft employees. We created ‘Noche Libre’ – a Latin-inspired event held at the Duke of Wellington’s private estate in Europe’s largest circus tent. Entertainment included live performances from Groove Armada and Jools Holland.
  5. 5. Thinkbox Televisionaries Thinkbox, commercial television’s marketing body, asked us to create a high profile conference to promote the future of TV to an audience of 250 senior decision-makers from the advertising and media world. The venue was impressively lit and decorated using the Televisionaries spectrum of colours. Sledge produced the day’s content and created 36 films. We also conducted an on-site edit and streamed the conference live on the web.
  6. 6. O2 Marketing Conference O2 asked us to produce a marketing conference to launch their new brand promise, ‘We’re better, connected’. After the morning plenary, delegates took part in the ‘Picture Perfect’ team building exercise - photographic assignments around Bristol accompanied by a series on riddles and clues to help them on their way. The afternoon’s work was later judged, with prizes for the winners.
  7. 7. Royal Mail Chairman’s Awards for Excellence We were asked to produce an event to recognise the positive contribution that Royal Mail employees make to the community. Guests received red carpet and ‘paparazzi’ treatment on entering Alexandra Palace. The awards ceremony and entertainment took place in a circus-style tent structure situated within the Great Hall. 94% of guests gave the event 8 or more out of 10.
  8. 8. The Carphone Warehouse Group X Factor Fever Sledge was asked to create and implement a company-wide talent search campaign that would raise awareness of The Carphone Warehouse Group’s sponsorship of The X Factor TV show. The campaign was also to boost staff morale and to find an overall winner to perform at the annual staff ball in front of 9,000 guests.
  9. 9. Sky Door to Door Sales Event Sky asked us to create an event that would introduce a brand new team of 500 door-to-door sales staff to the Sky brand and make them feel a valued part of the company. Research indicated that staff left feeling excited and proud to work for Sky, with over 92% of guests rating the day 8 out of 10 or higher.
  10. 10. Bryant Homes Taylor Woodrow Annual Sales Conference Sledge was asked to produce Bryant Homes’ Annual Sales Conference, which brings together 700 Bryant Homes sales consultants from 11 regions around the UK, plus Head Office and regional staff.
  11. 11. O2 The O2 Premiere O2 asked Sledge to create an all-day party that would reward staff and launch the new O2 Arena. Entertainment included performances from Tom Jones, the Kaiser Chiefs and Basement Jaxx. We also had to find accommodation for 14,000 people, transport 17,000 people to and from the event, and organize 457 performers. Research showed an immediate uplift in staff morale, teamwork and affiliation to O2. 90% of staff said the day made them feel proud to work for O2.
  12. 12. Sledge Film and Video Sledge Film and Video offers comprehensive production services including extensive post-production facilities and full DVD authoring capabilities. Whether we are producing conference support films, stand-alone promotional films or video news reels, we create films that engage and communicate effectively with the target audience.
  13. 13. O2 The Spirit of O2 Awards Sledge Film and Video produced a series of films based around the theme of heroes for The Spirit of O2 Awards. This included a programme launch film, finalist videos and a post event film. We also teamed up with Dolby to create an impressive event opener film for what was the first ever corporate use of modern 3D, the first use of Dolby’s Fixed Filter System and the largest non-IMAX 3D projection.
  14. 14. Thinkbox The Thinkbox Experience Thinkbox, commercial television’s marketing body, asked Sledge Film and Video to produce a series of films the 2007 Thinkbox Experience conference. We created over thirty videos, many of which were played across three 20ft wide panoramic screens, encompassing everything from award winning brand case studies to TV personalities singing jingles to a dog puppet talking about neuroscience!
  15. 15. Department of Health Going Over Exchange Enterprises commissioned us to produce a Department of Health funded film to support the department’s OD campaign. The video needed to be visually strong and well paced in order to attract and hold the attention of the audience (primarily drug users or their associates), offering guidance on what to do when someone overdoses. We produced ‘Going Over’ in a pop video format, using repetition and hooks to deliver the core messages. The film earned us 6 awards at the IVCA‘s, including Gold for Best Drama, Best Educational Film and Best Editing.
  16. 16. Accenture Lovely Day Accenture asked us to create a film highlighting the variety of ways in which they touch the lives of people living in the UK on a daily basis. We produced a film entitled ‘Accenture – A Lovely Day.’ Throughout the film, shots are used to illustrate the larger corporate message, building up to the film’s tag line: Accenture, we are part of what makes the UK tick. ‘A Lovely Day’ is currently being used to open meetings worldwide and has been reformatted to extend its use beyond our original remit.
