Cap Barbell 40-Pound Dumbbell Set is an adequate starter set with enough weight and
flexibility that would be required by someone who is just starting to work out with dumbbell sets.
Although the set will not actually provide 40 pounds as advertised, you will be able to get up to
37.5 pounds (including the bar/handles) and increase your work out intensity gradually with 2.5
and 5 pound increments. The set contains 8 plates in total: four of them are 2.5 pounds while
the other four are 5 pounds. The quality of the plates is acceptable as they are made of solid
metal that could last for a long time.
