Create a New Document <ul><ul><li>Microsoft Word allows you to create documents such as letters, resumes, brochures, newsletters, reports, and manuscripts. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Double-Click on the Word icon on the screen. </li></ul><ul><li>OR </li></ul><ul><li>Start- All programs- Microsoft Office- Microsoft Word </li></ul>

  4. 4. Creating a New Document – continued   When you first run Word, it automatically creates a new document, ready for you to start typing.
  5. 5. Typing Your Document <ul><li>As you type, correct errors using the Backspace and Delete keys. </li></ul><ul><li>Use the mouse and the scroll bar to move around in the document. </li></ul><ul><li>Word will automatically go to a new line when needed, or you can use the Enter key. </li></ul>

  8. 8. Saving Your Work – the First Time <ul><li>The first time you save a file, it will ask you to name it. Choose a name that is easy to remember. </li></ul><ul><li>OFFICE BUTTON </li></ul><ul><li>Click on Save As. (Not Save) </li></ul>
  9. 9. Saving Your Work 2003 <ul><li>Click on the File Save icon. (It looks like a floppy disk.) </li></ul>
  10. 10. Saving Your Work to a Floppy Disk, CD, or Flash Drive <ul><li>In the Save In Box, click on the arrow </li></ul><ul><li>Name the file as usual. </li></ul><ul><li>Click on Save . </li></ul>
