KeithBourne:
Attached are a set of slides showing the early plans for how the Sloan-C Symposium on Emerging Technology Applications in Online Learning would be developed. This is a fully integrated online and in-person event. It was challenging to pull all of the different parts together into a seamless conference experience, but most of the original plans did become reality. The Symposium will occur in a couple weeks, so it still isn't over, but as you can see from the slides, this can be model for future events in which you want to expand your event beyond its physical boundaries (much like we do in online education). Even if you don't adopt everything in these slides, or none of it at all, hopefully it will help push in new directions for improving your own education events so that education in general benefits. Let us know what you think!
