Kukreja Sir (21.09.11) - Presentation by Mr. Serbjit Kukreja Kukreja Sir (21.09.11) - Presentation by Mr. Serbjit Kukreja Presentation Transcript

    • Ladies and Gentlemen
    • I thank you for giving me this opportunity to share my experiences with you in the industry.
    • In 1986 a colleague of mine and I decided to design and develop / market Electronic Cash Registers for Retail and Restaurants applications.
    • At that time there was a vacuum in this niche segment. There was this government policy of a PMP ( Phased Manufacturing Program ), which was the favored route of electronics industry at that time. We decided to shun this route – as it would not have helped us in our long term vision.
    • Developing a product from scratch was a very stressful job due to limitations of availability of components and vendors in various disciplines like Plastic molding and sheet metals parts.
    • At that point we felt there was a market in the Restaurant business for a product of this nature. There were only a handful of products worldwide catering to this segment – and these was very expensive products.

    • After studying the requirements of this segment we did manage to develop a product which was an instant hit.
    • Marketing directly by us would have been an uphill task. So we decided to go thru an established setup. Bradma Of India Limited (a Tata Group Company at that time and now a Forbes Company ) was fortunately for us, looking a similar product and it benefited both of us. Even after 25years we are still continuing together.

    • Growth has being slow and painful but eventually worth it.
    • As a small player we have had to constantly think out of the box – be it product features, marketing efforts etc.
    • A few of the models developed and marketed by us are shown below:
  • Trucount - 5600
  • Trucount - 6000
  • Trucount D-80 / T-80
  • Trucount - T40
  • Trucount – T10
  • Trucount - Handy
    • I Thank you for bearing with me
