  • 1. To whom it may concern - I am a previous employee who worked with Evelyn Morgan from 2007-2009 at Borders Inc. in San Luis Obispo, California. My previous experience with the company prior to the San Luis Obispo store was 4 months at Borders Inc. in Valencia, California. As a Business Management major from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo, I understand the many skills and challenges inherent to management work in corporate environments and hold Evelyn in high regard for her exceptional management abilities during our time at Borders Inc. In her position as training supervisor for store 0537, Evelyn Morgan played a large part in shaping the morale, enthusiasm and professionalism of the store. Even as an entry level employee, I immediately recognized that Evelyn valued the growth all employees, both new and existing. Through constructive feedback and a hands-on attitude towards encouragement, Evelyn was not afraid to praise accomplishment, as well as to offer assistance in understanding procedures and why they should be followed. Where many people falter in offering a ‘why’ as well as a ‘how’, Evelyn clearly understands that educating employees results in a more productive staff that is able to think on their feet and create new ideas to help add value to both their job and themselves as individuals. On both a personal and professional level, I feel that Evelyn was able to keep me motivated throughout my two years at the store. Despite the stress of my full college curriculum, I found work to be enjoyable and rewarding, thanks to Evelyn. She helped to make Borders Inc. a place where I did not dread to be. Qualities like this can not be taught; I know that they require observation, experience and a genuine interest and investment within their company. I feel that Evelyn Morgan exemplifies the type of management style and would be an extremely valuable addition to any company. Sincerely, Andrew Rodriguez For Question: (661) 645-5192
