  • Electrical Circuits
    • Circuit- a closed path through which electrons can flow.
    • Ex: When a lamp is on, the current moves through the circuit causing light.
    • There are 2 types of circuits
    • 1. Series Circuits- the current has only 1 path it can travel along.
    • Ex: Christmas lights. One bad bulb can cause the entire string of light to go out.

    • Parallel circuits- contains separate branches for the current to move through.
    • -The current is split up. More current flows through the path with the lowest resistance. When one path is close, the current flows through a different branch.
    • Ex: Lights in homes and schools
