ASTM* Standards and Engineering Digital Library (ASTM SEDL) The ASTM Standards and Engineering Digital Library is a collection of over 12,000 standards for materials, products, systems, and services, as well as other ASTM publications of technical engineering information. The SEDL covers a broad range of engineering disciplines, including aerospace, biomedical, chemical, civil, environmental, geolo gical, health and safety, industrial, materials science, mechanical, nuclear, petroleum, soil science, and solar engineering. *formerly known as the American Society for Testing and Materials
    • 3. To access ASTM Standards and Engineering Digital Library: • go to lib.fit.edu • click on Databases tab • enter ASTM in search box and click Search
    • 4. Designation • Designation is comprised of a capital letter indicating general classification (A, ferrous metals; B, nonferrous metals; C, cementitious, ceramanic, concrete, and masonry materials; etc.), a serial number (one to four digits), a dash, and a year of issue. The year of issue is the year of the original adoption as a standard or, in the case of a revision, the year of the last revision. Standards that have been reapproved without change are indicated by the year of last reapproval in parentheses. Example: F2401-04(2010)
