  • 1. Czech republic a few remarks on topic MST in education Petr Naske teacher – M & ICT (pupils from 9 to 18) consultant in Centre for International Services of Ministry of Education Czech Union of Informaticians in Education
  • 2. Transformation of our educational system <ul><li>a lot of changes were made on all types of schools in primary and secondary level last few years </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Framework educational programmes (FEP) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>main influence on MST teaching – school are free to create new subjects, support integration of subjects, include project directly to teaching </li></ul></ul>
  • 3. ICT and MST in FEP <ul><li>there are discussions about amount of lessons of „computer science/informatics“ in education </li></ul><ul><ul><li>what is enough for reaching good outputs </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>if we can/must teach some skills in OTHER subjects than in informatics </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>to balance knowledge of ICT of children from families and our goals in ICT at schools </li></ul></ul><ul><li>other subjects have traditionally better position in a system, teachers must force some quite new views and topics (environment education, second foreign language, skills for cooperation etc.) </li></ul>

Motivated vs. talented pupils <ul><li>a lot of activities are focused on talented children </li></ul><ul><li>the main challenge for me as a teacher for children in age 12 to 16 is to motivate children </li></ul><ul><ul><li>they are choosing their career, type of upper secondary school </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>family imagination about career </li></ul></ul><ul><li>activity for talented children is not motivation for non-talented children (?) </li></ul>

Methodic support <ul><li>it SHOULD be an ICT methodist in every school </li></ul><ul><ul><li>it is upon decision of headmaster </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>he/she has less direct hours of teaching </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>he must help other colleagues to prepare interactive board, using educational software etc. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>me as an ICT methodist, I have 5 hours less than other colleagues </li></ul></ul><ul><li>we have special portal of methodic support in every subject – www.rvp.cz </li></ul>
