The Alhambra is now one of the Spain’s major tourists attractions, exhibiting the most famous Islamic architecture, together with Christian 16th and later interventions in buildings and gardens that mark its image as it can be seen today.
Next to the Alhambra is the neighborhood of the Albaicín, which is the place where all the Muslims of Granada lived. All the people that lived in the Alhambra were expelled when the Christians conquered Granada.
The Muslims live in the Albaicín because they think that the Alhambra is of their own property, and they know that they can’t live in the Alhambra, so they want to live the nearest possible to it; because of that, they live there.
