So what’s the problem? <ul><li>Required knowledge is not available to everyone that needs it </li></ul><ul><li>The knowledge that IS available is not adequately used </li></ul><ul><li>As a result decision making is not robust and evidence based </li></ul><ul><li>(Source: Adaptation Knowledge Service Design mini-Workshop IDS 5-6th May 2009) </li></ul>

Our approach and niche <ul><li>Expertise: linking development research and policy agendas to climate change </li></ul><ul><li>Diversity : helping to amplify voices that are not being heard, especially those from the South </li></ul><ul><li>Learning: addressing capacity constraints that limit people’s ability to access and make use of information. </li></ul><ul><li>Engagement: getting close to users and debates so we understand needs, target our efforts, increase our influence. </li></ul><ul><li>Partnership: working through our strong network of developing country partners. Supporting, not duplicating, the efforts of others </li></ul>
