A Few Resources• NOBLE’s OverDrive Site http://overdrive.noblenet.org• NOBLE’s Website http://www.noblenet.org• NOBLE on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/noble.libraries• NOBLE’s OverDrive Support firstname.lastname@example.org
AmazonAmazon has a help page called Public LibraryBooks for Kindle Books.Amazon also hosts user help forums whereKindle users discuss issues, answer questions, share ideas, etc. There are also lots of Kindlesites and ebook sites with helpful forums. Thisis often the quickest way to get answers tospecific questions.
What if I Don’t Live in a NOBLE Community?• Check your own public library and/or its library network – most have their own OverDrive collections similar to ours.• All residents of Massachusetts are entitled to get free Boston Public Library cards and use Boston’s OverDrive collection. (And you can apply online for the card!)
Amazon Issues• Once you leave OverDrive’s site, you are turning your checkout over to Amazon where it is subject to Amazon’s policies, not the library’s. They retain information about what you’ve borrowed after you return it including notes you take which will be restored if you later borrow the book again or buy it.• They are a bookseller and hope borrowing leads to buying the book from them.• If you have privacy issues or other issues with Amazon, Kindle may not be the best option for you.
Why Don’t You Have This Book?• It’s the authors and publishers who decide what books to make available as ebooks or audiobooks for libraries through OverDrive and other vendors. Many popular books are not available to us…at least not yet!
