With GradeMark digital assessment you are able to </li></ul><ul><li>Add comments within the body of the assignment, provide feedback, i.e. highlight, strikethrough, underline and etc. </li></ul><ul><li>Read the Originality report </li></ul><ul><li>Evaluate the assignment against qualitative or quantitative rubrics; or pre-set QuickMark comments </li></ul><ul><li>Enter a grade for the assignment that is automatically saved into GradeCentre </li></ul>1. Grading and Feedback using GradeMark <ul><li>The general comment tool allows for a longer, less area-specific feedback to be provided to the student. </li></ul><ul><li>To add a general comment, click on the general comments link at the bottom right corner. </li></ul><ul><li>Click on the “Edit” button and type in the general comment in the provided space. </li></ul><ul><li>The general comment will be part of the printable version of the GradeMark page for student users, or can be viewed online by the student by clicking on the general comments link in the bottom right corner. </li></ul>

Grading and Feedback using GradeMark <ul><li>With the mouse click on the point on the assignment where you wish to add </li></ul><ul><li>the comment, enter text into the text field of the comment bubble </li></ul>2. Comment may be up to one thousand characters in length. For example: “ Your thesis is unfocused. Consider refining your thesis in subsequent versions of this assignment. ” 3. If the comment references a specific area of the assignment, you can click on the “ highlight pen ”, then choose a colour/ underline/ strikethrough and drag on the assignment 4. You may also want to change the icon. 5. Save, Edit, Delete the comment.
    15. 15. 3. Clipboards 3. Grading and Feedback using GradeMark 1. Commonly used comments or ‘clips’ can be saved in the clipboard for later and repeated use. A comment can be added to the clipboard by clicking on the Add to Clipboard button. e.g.: Missing citation. Please insert the reference. 2. Clips added to the clipboard can be used in any class or assignment for which you are logged in. The Clipboard Library can be accessed through the Tools pull down menu

Grading and Feedback using GradeMark <ul><li>Click at the “T type” button and choose a colour. </li></ul><ul><li>Click on any point of the assignment where the comment should begin. A comment may be up to one thousand characters in length. E.g. “Please insert more description here” </li></ul><ul><li>The inline comment can be moved by clicking and dragging the comment to a new location on the page. </li></ul><ul><li>Delete and Undo (only for the last deleted comment) </li></ul>

To access the library: Tools-> QuickMark Library </li></ul><ul><li>QuickMark is a set of commonly used or standard comments / feedback for you to “drag-and-drop”. </li></ul><ul><li>The number and type of the QuickMark marks added to each assignment is tracked by the Statistics assessment tool available under the Tools menu. </li></ul><ul><li>Choose the “Punctuation” and Composition” and close the library. </li></ul><ul><li>The sets are added to an assignment from the QuickMark palette. </li></ul><ul><li>Expand them by clicking the “+” sign. Drag-and-drop any of the comment. </li></ul>

Grading and Feedback using GradeMark <ul><li>The GradeMark system automatically provides four QuickMark sets consisting of commonly used editing marks and standard corrections. You can use these sets, create new sets by exporting/importing sets, upload a set or use those provided by another marker. </li></ul><ul><li>Click on the “Composition” and “Export Selected Set” </li></ul><ul><li>Import the saved set and save as “[your name] - Quick Mark” </li></ul><ul><li>Edit existing comment, Delete comment, Create new comment </li></ul><ul><li>Tick the new QuickMark set </li></ul><ul><li>The sets are added to an assignment from the QuickMark palette. </li></ul><ul><li>Expand them by clicking the “+” sign. Drag-and-drop any of the comment </li></ul>

Grading and Feedback using GradeMark <ul><li>Rubric scorecards can be used to evaluate student work based on defined criteria and scales. </li></ul><ul><li>It can be designed based on the criterion on the Assessment Front Sheet . </li></ul><ul><li>You can create and share rubric scorecards, allowing other instructors to upload the rubric scorecard to their classes. </li></ul><ul><li>Access the Rubric Scorecards: Tools -> Rubric Library </li></ul>

To open the rubric while viewing an assignment , please click on the rubric scorecard link at the bottom right corner of the GradeMark window. 2. To grade with the rubric scorecard, please clicks on the scale the assignment has met for the criteria. Graded marks will be automatically saved to the GradeCentre.

Please wait while the system generates the interface (the “red apple”) so that this assignment can be marked. </li></ul><ul><li>Reminder 4: Portrait or Landscape </li></ul><ul><li>Send a Ticket to TurnitinUK support via Helpdesk (Menu->Help->HelpDesk ); provide the Paper ID , e.g. 4233980. </li></ul>4. Known FAQ or Issues. There are a few odd cases where students’ work does not generate well with the GradeMark images. Please contact TurnitinUK/CELT if you suspect some part of your student’s work is missing. The issue will then be quickly rectified.

Additional Functions <ul><li>Printing: To print an assignment with a full comment list and any rubric information, use the print icon or open the File menu pull down in the GradeMark window and select Print from the list of options. </li></ul><ul><li>Emailing Students: You can open a mail window in the default mail client for the computer by clicking on the name of the student under the assignment title. For more information on default mail clients, please use the help file for the web browser. </li></ul><ul><li>Navigation between assignments: grading several assignments you are able to move to the next or previous assignment without returning to the inbox and re-launching the GradeMark interface. </li></ul><ul><li>Student View Mode: To view the assignment as the student will see it, access the View menu and select Student Mode. Return to the instructor access by using the View menu once more and selecting Instructor Mode or by clicking on the Return to grading link in the yellow highlighted area underneath the assignment title. </li></ul><ul><li>Statistics: You can use the Statistics link from the Tools menu to view the assignment information for the current student in comparison to the performance of the rest of the class in the assignment. </li></ul>
