  • 1. GEOGRAPHICAL ASPECTS.Mexico city is the Federal District (Distrito Federal), capital of Mexico and seat of the federal powers of the Mexican Union.Its population is about 8,851,080.
  • 2. It´s located in the centre-south of Mexico in the Valley of Mexico. The most important rivers are Churubusco, San Joaquín and Los Remedios. Some important mountains are La Sierra de Guadalupe, Cerro del Tepeyac, Sierra de Santa Catalina. -Sierra de Guadalupe-.

CULTURAL ASPECTSThe official language is Spanish, but there are some indigenous tribes that speak some indigenous languages as Otomí and the Mixteco.The majority (90.5%) of the residents in Mexico City are Roman Catholic. However, many other religions and philosophies are also practiced in the city: many different types of Protestant groups, different types of Jewish communities, Buddhist and Islam and other spiritual and philosophical groups, as well as an increasing number of irreligion.Flag (bandera).
  • 5. 2. CULTURAL ASPECTSSome special meals and drinks from Mexico are the Tequila, Chiles, spicy food, Nachos, tacos, quesadillas, tamales, chapulines...Some important festivals are the Revolution Day, Candlemas day, Day of the Dead, Mexico Independe day.
