- Drinking lead me into some very dark places, I put myself and my children at risk, I went to parties with people I didn’t know, I woke up in places I didn’t recognise. I did things I would never have done sober. I frequently blacked out and lost hours of memories of what I did and said. I spent too many nights sat alone, smoking and drinking, hating myself more and more, drinking more and more, a cycle of self loathing and self destruction, thinking this was the way I relaxed!
