    • The first Apple Macintosh computer was released on January 24, 1984
    • Instead of the usual command line interface the Macintosh used a graphical user interface and mouse

    • On the right, the computer has more functions and has a Serial ATA hard drive, a V.92 modem, and a 1.5 inch flat panel

    • In 1984 IBM created the IBM personal computer, including the Intel 80286 microprocessor a faster, more modern chip then
    • Other computers at this time used Motorola 68000 microprocessors and the MIPS R2000
    • WDC introduced a 16-bit upgrade for the WDC CMOS 65C02 microprocessor
