  • I worked for a small printing company in the billing and accounting part of the company. After working there for just a short time, I started noticing some bills that were coming in that did not seem be company related, such as golfing and Nascar memorabilia.
  • Neither of these two hobbies had anything to do with the printing company or any company activities.
  • I can do nothing. I can confront the owner. I can quit my job.
  • Yes, claiming these expenses as business related is illegal; it is not right; but it is not technically harmful.
  • In my situation, I decided to wait it out a short while so that I could find a new job. I am a husband and father and had my family to think about. I could not just up and quit and leave my family with no income. Fortunately, I was able to find new employment within a couple weeks. After securing new employment, I did then confront the owner. He would not come out and admit anything. He told me it was none of my business and to just do my job. I gave my 2 week notice, and he ultimately asked me to leave at that moment and not finish out my two weeks; which was fine with me.
