NNARRATOR (V.O.): The production team of Esmerelda Imac andIolanthe Booke have brought you shows both beloved and daring, beginning with the retro game show Hey, That’s My Llama! andcontinuing through such monster hits as Stompy-Wave, Man Swap, and, of course, Juggling With The Stars. Now, their mostinnovative show ever is set to debut on BFTAF.
ESMERELDA IMAC: I’m really excited about this one. I think it’sgoing to be our best show yet. It’s a really exciting concept, reallyamazing.IOLANTHE BOOKE: You might even say “really awesome.”(Both laugh)
IOLANTHE: Now, the concept for this came from a super talentedideas girl, Callista.ESMERELDA: I’m sure people will remember Callista from theold Boolprop, right?IOLANTHE: If they don’t, they should. Really good at the ideas. Iwish I was as good as her. So she came up with the basic idea, andthen we said “Hey, this would make a really neat reality show!”ESMERELDA: All the cool kids were doing one, and we didn’twant to be left out. (laughs)
IOLANTHE: The basic idea is that we have this family, andthey’re living their life, right, but every night at midnight we callthem up and give them a task to complete. They have untilmidnight the next day to complete the task. If they can do it, theyget a point.ESMERELDA: If they can’t do it, they don’t get a point.IOLANTHE: And of course, we’re going to be filming them thewhole time, to make sure they’re really complying with the rules. But here’s the really fun part: there’s no way of knowing what taskthey’re going to get. We have a whole list, and every day we’llselect one at random.
ESMERELDA: But not everybody in the household has tocomplete the task.IOLANTHE: Oh no! Just somebody. And we have a good mix, soit shouldn’t be too hard.ESMERELDA: I’m really excited about this family. To start outwith, we’ve got a Sim of mystery.IOLANTHE: An international Sim of mystery.ESMERELDA: Right, the International Sim of Mystery DescartesTsvirkunov. How cool is that? Or should I say, how awesome?IOLANTHE: Oh, very awesome, definitely. The man reeks ofAwesome.
IOLANTHE (V.O.): And then we’ve got his daughters. Iunderstand that Anastasia was quite the free spirit in Uni. It got herinto more than a few fights, too.ESMERELDA (V.O.): Well, she’s Romance. And she inherited apretty hefty dose of Awesome.IOLANTHE (V.O.): And with a history of snagging her twinsister’s boyfriends. Or so I hear.ESMERELDA (V.O.): That always makes for good television. Notthat we’re advocating any such thing, of course!IOLANTHE (V.O.): Of course not.
ESMERELDA (V.O.): Now, Rebecca is the twin sister, and shejust got engaged to Pong Dennis.IOLANTHE (V.O.): Pity, that. We could have filmed it.ESMERELDA (V.O.): Always good for the ratings, engagements.IOLANTHE (V.O.): And then weddings for sweeps week.(Both laugh)IOLANTHE (V.O.): Not that we’re forcing anything. ButRebecca’s Popularity and also pretty Awesome. That’s good. Thatcould help them out quite a bit.ESMERELDA (V.O.): Not to give anything away!IOLANTHE (V.O.): Oh no. Mum’s the word.
ESMERELDA: And speaking of mums… Abbey Tsvirkunov is amysterious one. Heh, did you see what I did there? Because she’sthe mother, and mum’s the word? Like a pun?IOLANTHE: I’m sure everybody got it. Abbey, though… she’s aquiet one, but still waters run deep. I wouldn’t be at all taken abackif she surprised everyone. Somehow I think she may be the one totake advantage of the off-site rule.ESMERELDA: Ohhhhh, the off-site rule!
ESMERELDA: If they spend more than three hours off the lot, except for work or school, then they have to complete another task. You’d think that would work to their disadvantage.IOLANTHE: Except that if they manage to pull it off, they get bothpoints. Abbey is pretty shrewd, and I think she’ll be able tocalculate the advantages.ESMERELDA: Because she’s Awesome?IOLANTHE: Nearer Win than Awesome, maybe. Definitely out towin at any rate.
ESMERELDA: And of course they win by scoring one hundredpoints.IOLANTHE: But not in many, many generations like you see somuch of. No, this is one hundred points in one hundred days.ESMERELDA: It seems like it would be easy to lose. After all, what if they get a bad task? Well, we thought of that, and so didCallista, and there are a few opportunities for extra points. Really,a clever family could get all hundred points very easily.IOLANTHE: Or an Awesome one.ESMERELDA: Or an Awesome one, right. And this family isdefinitely Awesome. So for all of you at home, get ready for OneHundred Days of Awesome!
NARRATOR (V.O.): One Hundred Days of Awesome will beginafter these messages.
