  • 2. Where did the Vikings come from? The Vikings came from three countries of Scandinavia: Denmark, Norway and Sweden. During this period many Vikings left Scandinavia and travelled to other countries, such as Britain and Ireland.
  • 3. What were the viking ships like? The Viking longships could sail in shallow water. So they could travel up rivers as well as across the sea. In a raid, a slip could be hauled up on a beach.
  • 4. What did the vikings buy ?The vikings bought silver , silk, spices , wine , jewellery , glass , pottery andslaves . They sold ítems honey , tin ,wheat , wool , wood , iron , fur ,leather , fish and walrus ivory
  • 5. What weapons did the Vikings use? The Vikings fought using long swords and axes. A good sword was handed down from father to son, but Vikings also buried weapons with their owner when he died.
  • 6. Which was the women’s housework?Women baked bread and they did spinningand weaving to turn sheep wool into cloth.They looked after the children , made thefamily’s clothes and cooked the two meals aday most familias ate.
