2. This place was located in a warehouse
building. After the Berlin Wall had come
down, it was taken over by artists, who
called it Tacheles, Yiddish for "straight
talking“. The building contained ateliers
and workshops, a nightclub, and a
cinema.
3. First it was a department store, then a Nazi
prison. It was later partially demolished, and
a group of artisans occupied the building.
4. Huge, colorful graffiti-style murals were
painted on the exterior walls, and
modern art sculptures are featured
inside.
5. 400.000 people a year came here
to see the building and paintings.

artistic pieces. On the top you had a great
view of all the city.
