One of the benefits of taking a course with My Learning Log is that you can learn with and from others. Some people call this "social learning". It's the way all of us learn at some points in our lives and the way some of us prefer to learn for most of the time.

Some of the ways you can learn socially on My Learning Log are:

asking for help from others on how to do something
sharing thoughts and feelings about what you are learning
comparing your own experiences of doing something with how others do it
providing advice, coaching, and feedback
having fun while learning such as playing games like "2 Truths and a Lie", sharing mistakes and laughing about each others' failures.

The key to social learning is to get to know others and for them to get to know you. Offline, you do that through face-to-face contact; online, you do that through tools such as having an accurate and interesting personal profile.

Your personal profile allows you to let others know about you and you about them. It means you can connect with people who are like you and share your experiences and interests. In turn, this means you can work together to help one another in your learning. Which all adds up to a better and more effective learning experience.
