  • 9. 1. Create a course catalogue
  • 10. Creating a full Course Catalogue can only be done by Site Administrators
  • 11. To create catalogue pages, go to Admin
  • 12. …enter your details and click Submit
  • 13. This will take you to your Admin page
  • 14. For a new CSA, select Course Catalogue
  • 15. … and then Course Subject Area (CSA) You can now add, edit or delete a CSA
  • 16. To add a CSA, click here
  • 17. Fill in the name and description of the CSA
  • 18. Fill in the metadata and select the status
  • 19. … and click Submit
  • 20. The CSA is now added to your list
  • 21. … and will look like this in the catalogue
  • 22. For a new category, select Catalogue
  • 23. … and then Course Category (CCat) You can now add, edit or delete a CCat
  • 24. Click here for a new course category
  • 25. Fill in the details of the CCat
  • 26. Fill in the metadata, status and Submit
  • 27. The Category is now added to your list
  • 28. … and will look like this in the catalogue
  • 29. These changes will show in the catalogue
  • 30. 2. Create a Course Introduction Page
  • 31. Creating a Course Module can be done by Site Administrators and Course Providers
  • 32. A course provider’s admin looks like this Course provider’s admins allow them to create courses and manage payments
  • 33. A site owner’s admin looks like this Site owners’ admins allow them to manage their whole site
  • 34. To add a course, select Course Module
  • 35. Click Insert Course Module
  • 36. … which takes you to your Intro page
  • 37. In Step 1, choose the course category Tip: if your category isn’t in the catalogue, contact us with details so we can add it
  • 38. In Step 2, add your course intro details
  • 39. Enter the course name… Note: as you enter the name of your course, the unique name will be automatically completed

  • 44. Add completion options Set the quiz % pass rate here. Do not change self-complete unless you want to manage your trainees’ course completions
  • 45. In Step 3, add metadata Tip: the keywords should be: name of course module, course category, course subject area
  • 46. In Step 4, decide if the course is free…

  • 48. When finished, select status and submit
  • 49. … and return to your course page Note: if you are a course provider, your course is suspended until approved by the MLL admin team Tip: you can drag courses up and down to change their position in the catalogue.

  • 52. 3. Add topics and assignments
  • 53. Creating Course Topics and Assignments can be done by both Site Administrators and Course Providers
  • 54. To add topics, start on the Course page
  • 55. Select the course and click here… Tip: have your course topics ready before you start adding topics
  • 56. On the new page, click Insert Course Topic
  • 57. Add your topic title and topic
  • 58. Use the text editor to format your text
  • 59. Add web links
  • 60. Show web links in a new window… … so that your users can return to their course page
  • 61. Add images here
  • 62. Add images from the server…
  • 63. … or upload a new image
  • 64. Embed resources such as videos Check out the ckeditor site to find out the full range of resources you can embed
  • 65. Add a topic-related assignment Tip: an assignment shows after the topic under a Do and Log heading
  • 66. Now set the status and click Submit
  • 67. This will take you to your topics page Tip: you can drag topics up and down to change their position in the course.
  • 68. Delete unwanted topics here Note: you cannot delete a topic that has a sub-topic. Delete the sub-topic first.
  • 69. Add further topics or sub-topics
  • 70. When complete, go to the main page
  • 71. If you are a Course Provider, click here Your course will be moderated by the Admin team and set live

  • 73. 4. Add a quiz
  • 74. Creating a Course Quiz can be done by both Site Administrators and Course Providers
  • 75. To add a quiz, start on the Course page
  • 76. To add a quiz, click the Quiz icon
  • 77. Select Multiple Choice and add details
  • 78. Select Missing Word and add details
  • 79. Select True and False and add details
  • 80. When your quiz is done, click Submit
  • 81. Go back to the Course Module page
  • 82. This is how the quiz will look…
  • 83. 5. Add promotional boxes
  • 84. Creating Promotional boxes can be done by both Site Administrators and Course Providers
  • 85. To add topics, start on the Course page
  • 86. To add promotional boxes, click here … go to a course and click Add to Wishlist on the Introduction page
  • 87. This will take you to Add/Edit Boxes
  • 88. Click Add Box
  • 89. … which will take you to Add/Edit Box

  • 91. To add an image, click Browse Note: On your computer, first format your image files to 170px x 90px

  • 97. Assigning Users can only be done by Site Administrators not by Course Providers
