  • 3. What is Live Classroom?
    • Wimba Live Classroom is virtual classroom software that combines state-of-the-art interactive technologies such as voice, application sharing, polling and whiteboarding. It enables facilitators to add greater interaction to their online delivery and to foster better communication with participants.
    • Organizations can also use it for online meetings, briefing sessions, presentations, interviewing potential employees, conference sessions and professional development events.

  • 5. Tip #1: Preparation
      • Run the setup wizard which will ensure your computer is set to run Wimba by checking for:
        • Pop-up blockers
        • Supported browsers
        • Correct java version
      • Technical Support
        • 866-350-4978 (Canada/USA)
  • 6. Tip #2: Equipment
      • For best experience:
      • use a headset with a microphone.
      • use a network or cable connection if possible.
  • 7. Tip #3: Communicate
    • Before the session:
    • Using LC inside WebCT Vista: let them know where to find the LC in your vista course
    • Using LC outside WebCT Vista: Send an email with login instructions and classroom url
    • Remind participants to run the wizard at least an hour before session start.
  • 8. Tip #4: Sound Check
    • If yes, please select the button
    • If no, please select the button for assistance
  • 9. Tip #5: Manage Interactions
    • Individually: yes/no, hand raise, emoticons
    • Globally: Use Actions to clear yes/no, hand raise, emoticons.

    • Welcome participants using voice or video
    • Use the Lock Talk feature for easier communication.
    • Establish some basic ground rules (how to ask questions, etc)

      • eBoard whiteboard app that lets you draw, type text, import slides or graphics
      • Share – share your computer screen
