  • 2. WWW.EPICRESEARCH.CO +91 7316642300 Euro May Rise As ECBStimulus Bets Recede, USDollar At Risk USD/CAD- Trading the Bankof Canada (BoC) RateDecisionAlthough the Bank of Canada (BoC) is widely expectedto keep the benchmark interest rate at 1.00% in May,the fresh batch of central bank rhetoric accompanyingthe rate decision may dampen the appeal of theCanadian dollar should Governor Mark Carney adopt amore dovish tone for monetary policy. As Canadafaces a slowing recovery, the BoC may scale back itswillingness to deliver a rate hike, and the central bankremains poised to carry its wait-and-see approach intothe second-half of the year in an effort to stem thedownside risks for growth and inflation. As rising home prices paired with the expansion inprivate sector lending raises the threat of an assetbubble, Governor Carney has persistently talked upbets for a rate hike, and the central bank head mayshow a greater willingness to normalize monetarypolicy as the fundamental outlook for the United States– Canada’s largest trading partner – improves. However, the slowdown in retail sales along with theongoing slack in the real economy may prompt theBoC to adopt a more dovish tone for monetary policy, and the central bank may scale back its willingness toraise the benchmark interest rate in order toencourage a stronger recovery.TRADING TIPS BUY EURUSD ABOVE1.2900 TGT 1.2920/1.2940SL 1.2870 BUY USDJPY ABOVE 102.55TGT 102.75/102.95 SL102.25 SELL GBPUSD BELOW1.5010 TGT 1.4990/1.4970SL 1.5040HEADLINES
