Monuments of Avilés This is Aviles Town Hall, it was built in the XVII century and it’s placed in a very big famous square called Plaza España in the centre of the city. The text of the Fuero de Avilés is kept in its archives. This is Galiana street, one of the most important streets in the old part of the city. It is the typical street in Aviles, with a lot of arcades and old houses.

This fountain known as Fuente de los Caños de San Francisco (17th century) stands next to the Church of San Francisco. Adorned with Coats of Arms and heads, it ‘s very popular with city residents. The church of San Nicolás, which now belongs to the Franciscan Order, has a doorway dating from the 12th century. And some chapels: two of them are Gothic and another one is Baroque.
