  • 4. Many adverbs end with ly . You make these adverbs by adding ly to adjectives . Some words that end in ly are not adverbs. Some adjectives end in ly too. For Example:- 1.Sam was feeling very lonely. 2.She was wearing a lovely dress. Note:
  • 5. Kinds of Adverbs Manner Place Time It describes in which manner an action is done. It describes where an action is done. It describes when an action is done. .
  • 6. Examples:
    • The girls answered all the questions correctly .
    • He was driving carelessly .
    Adverbs of Manner : Some adverbs describe the way people do things.
  • 7. Examples :
    • The boys are playing upstairs .
    • I’ve lived here for about two years.
    Adverbs of Place : Some adverbs answer the question “where?”. They are called adverbs of place.
  • 8. Examples :
    • The train has already left.
    • He comes here daily.
    Adverbs of Time : Some adverbs answer the question “when?”. They are called adverbs of time.

    • 2. Francis played on the beach yesterday.
    • 3. I will visit my friend tomorrow.
    • 4. George, will you come here?
    • 5. They swam lazily in the pool.
    • 6. Yesterday, they played a game.
    • 7. The truck grumbled loudly.
    • We will go to the concert soon
    • The kitten walked there.
    • My brother goes to the gym everyday.
    Underline the action verb and circle the adverb that modifies it. Indicate if the adverb is of manner, time or place.
