    • Improve student writing
    • Take failing CWEs and analyze errors to improve tutoring and intervention
    • Provide feedback to academic departments

    • Randomly selected 80 essays that scored a 6 from all majors and initial placements
      • From summer 2007 through spring 2008, 960 exams scored 6 or below
      • 765 essays received a score of 6 = 79.69% of failing essays
    • Data analysis based on major and initial placement
