Social network is a social structure made op of individuals connected by one or more interdependencies or interests. Google Me is now rumored to stage a frontal attack on facebook.

    • Everyone needs to generate more business or stay connected in case of a job search
    • You never know where that that desirable connection may come from, so stay in touch and top of mind
    • Make sure you can be found if someone is looking for you.

    • Facebook – Good for B2C (not as much for B2B)
      • If it is for your business, create a fan page and invite

    • No content required – just your background
    • High Ranking on Google – LinkedIn is very high
    • Promote other sites - Website, Blog, Twitter
    • Establish Credibility – (Gain Clients)
      • online history, expertise (groups, answers, apps), get recommendations from coworkers, suppliers, clients
    • Network with peers – always have current contact
      • Find friends and competitors
    • Publicize Events to those connected (and broader)
    • Executives from all Fortune 500 companies are LinkedIn members.
    • Over 1 million senior executives use LinkedIn
    • 46% of users describe themselves as Decision Makers
    • Average household income is $109,000
    • Average age is 41
    • LinkedIn has over 75 million members in over 200 countries.
    • A new member joins LinkedIn approximately every second, and ~1/2 of the members are outside the U.S.

    • Create a comprehensive profile
    • Start by connect with people you know WELL!
      • (tip: use LinkedIn toolbar for Outlook and “You may Know” )
    • Recommend others and be recommended
      • These testimonials are the best – can’t be modified.
    • Join groups in what you do, referral sources and prospects
    • Start a group for your target audience (if needed)
    • Answer questions
      • Getting “Best Answer” increases your visibility
    • Update your status at least three times every week
      • Using if you also use Twitter (updates both at once ).
    • Show events and content with Apps
