1. My Evaluation By looking back at my final product can analyse my faults and the areas I have succeeded in, therefore I can then improve my work and enhance the qualities I have excelled at.
2. I believe that the finished product does represent a particular social group. people who wear those type of clothes and listen to that type of music are featured in our magazine and will purchase it. However this is also a flaw, as this social group is a small minority.
3. If I was going to create my idea for a magazine I would have to, Ideally for the British magazine audience, try and sell the idea of my magazine to a leading magazine publishing company, such as Emap and Ipcmedia, because they would provide and pay for facilities that will help create the magazine.
4. I do believe that my characteristics and conventions used in my piece reflect the chosen genre. For example in my images I used bright coloured costumes and obscure poses to reflect this indie-pop genre. I also used certain words such as, sexiest and sweatiest, as this also reflects the night culture in this genre, for example rave is commonly known for its night culture and these words are associated with this.
5. I also think I have done well creating a magazine which differs from others on the market. I found that no other music magazine ties fashion and music together. For example, what the artist’s wear at their gigs.
6. I do think that if I was to improve something, it would be my contents page, as it is my weakest piece, for example I would add a background colour as my others pages have this.
7. However I am very happy with how my images have turned out, I have highlighted, contrasted and changed the colour of different elements to gain the desired effect.
8. I really do think that the images reflect the genre of my magazine and looking back at my preliminary task I think I have vastly improved since then. I struggled using Photoshop so I purchased a Photoshop for dummies book which helped me enhance my technique and I have learnt how to; had different paint brushes to create different shapes and how to change the colour of picture. I also know how to had shadows to items to make them look 3-D and stand out, off the page.
